By the way, the new layout looks great.
Posted by maggette at February 19, 2004 12:16 PMThanks. Btw, until a better place is constructed this is the place to post all comments and suggestions about the layout of the site. We care most about content at kissaboo, but the crap has been kicked out of us in the UI game.
Recent comments has been added since when I'm at work I haven't decided on the best way to view RSS feeds at the moment, so it indicates to me when something has been posted.
Soon a change will be made to link to the actual comment, but oh well.
Several properties of comments and trackback should be changed sometime in the future.
Posted by shs4 at February 20, 2004 01:35 PMI really like the recently added "Recent Comments" section. It makes it really easy to navigate through the recent explosion of comments on the site.
Posted by maggette at February 20, 2004 04:44 PMTo make a note, besides the fact that I only realized this morning that the dates are for when the article was posted and not when the comment was made - which will be fixed, instead of listing every recent comment for an article, I might only put the most recent and let thread followers discover any other new comments. This might interfere with how one could get a feel for volume, so maybe I won't do this. Also, adding cookies / registration could give an indication on a per user basis how many comments / changes were added since last viewing.
Oh well, we'll see how it goes.
I don't know how it shows up on other people's computers, but this grey text on grey background color scheme on the main page is making it really hard to read the site.
Posted by maggette at February 26, 2004 10:53 AMI guess to honor Ash Wednesday I gave up making modifications to the site. The celebration of Grey Tuesday has gone on a little longer than planned, but unfortunately the color changes weren't just commented out of the CSS and I don't want to get adventurous, so tonight we'll go back to the way things were.
Posted by shs4 at February 26, 2004 12:17 PMI finally tried del.icio.us today. Surfing through related bookmarks works surprisingly well for discovering new sites.
Plus it's a decent bookmark organizer too.
