We are the Champions!
Congratulations to the Carolina Hurricanes, the 2006 Stanley Cup champions. They started the season on fire and were the best team throughout. After having made the trip on a few occasions to watch them in the Greensboro Coliseum and getting the chance to attend a 2002 Stanley Cup game against Detroit, it is great to see them win the first major championship for the state of North Carolina (though not discounting the Charlotte Knights' 1993 and 1999 International League Governor Cups). They deserved it and the state of North Carolina deserved it, especially after being the best home crowd in the NHL. Now I must decide it I want a Staal, Ward, Cole, or Brind'Amour jersey to go along with my Stanley Cup championship hat and T-shirt - and perhaps a Commodore bath robe. Also congratulations to all the veterans who won it for the first time - especially Wesley, Brind'Amour, and Hedican.
