The more I think of this movie, the more intrigued I am by the general concept. So C. Thomas Howell was so wimpy in the first one, they decide to replace him with a woman in the remake. Has that ever happened in a remake?

Plus, someone should write a dissertation on the advancement of the woman lead horror movie character - from Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween, to Neve Campbell in Scream / JLH in IKWYDLS to today. There are probably some better examples from history, but that is all I have got at the moment.
